Macro Photography

Now that the nice weather has started to arrive, it is time to get out and take some macro photos.
I have always found macro photography to be a fun challenge. Macro photography like any other skill takes time, practice and equipment. The two most important items are a good tripod and a good lens.

The photo below was taken with a Canon 20D and Sigma 150mm, 2.8 macro lens. The Sigma macro lens is a great lens for both macro and telephoto photography. I have been very pleased with the photos I have taken with the lens.

Change a photo into a sketch

I have always been interested in how to turn a photo into a sketch. I have tried a few different process and have not been happy with how the looked. I think I have found a process that I like. (See photos below.)

After:

I did make a few changes to the process. First, I used the Photoshop CS3 Black and White filter to change the photo to black and white photo. Then, I used a mask to create the border edge.
